Zadokeli

Zadokeli is a powerful, multidisciplinary arts festival curated by Meraki Arts Africa Ltd., held annually in Accra. The name “Zadokeli” comes from the Ewe language, meaning “the eclipse”, and the festival itself reflects that metaphor—exploring themes of darkness, transformation, and rebirth through art.

The experience spans one full week, featuring:

• Performing arts including dance-drama, spoken word, and live music
• Visual arts exhibitions with large-scale paintings, photography, and installations
• Children’s activities, storytelling sessions, and school art displays
• A signature finale performance titled “Mirages”, which blends dance and drama into a deeply immersive narrative
